Torgeir Dahlen Folland was born on 6 July 1973. At just fifteen years of age, he embarked on the fishing vessel Torberg and began a maritime career that would span nearly four decades. He worked aboard a variety of trawlers, longliners and other fishing vessels, often spending up to six months continuously at sea in Norway and international waters.
After obtaining his Ship Master's certification, Torgeir served as master aboard several fishing vessels and built extensive operational experience within the fishing industry.
He later transitioned into the offshore sector, joining Bourbon Offshore as a Master Mariner. During his time with Bourbon, Torgeir moved ashore and gained valuable insight into the shipbuilding process from a shipowner's perspective, overseeing vessel projects and operations.
Torgeir subsequently joined VARD, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Over nine years at VARD, he developed deep expertise in shipbuilding contracts, project execution, vessel commissioning and the many challenges shipowners face throughout a newbuild project.
Today, Torgeir serves as CEO of Kaldbakur Norway, board member of Myklebust Verft, and board member and Senior Advisor to Optimar, a leading supplier of automated seafood processing solutions.
